Our History
The Vacanti and Randazzo Companies was established in the early 1900's by two ambitious immigrants from Italy. We started out as a masonry and concrete paving company providing Nebraska and Iowa with the same quality of workmanship and craftsmanship that had made Italy famous. Joe Vacanti and Sam Randazzo, working with their own tools, built homes throughout the area.

Their philosophy of hard work, good quality and high customer satisfaction continued to attract business. The company grew, and in time, their sons joined the business. With new found vigor, the "boys" took on commercial, industrial and multi-family construction projects throughout the city.

In the 1960's, the company made the decision to start building for itself. This decision called for development, construction, management and leasing of real estate for retail and commercial uses. The growing demand of retail space for service oriented businesses kept the order books filled. The baby boom encouraged the development of multi-family housing projects. The light industrial sector motivated the construction of warehouses and industrial buildings.

Founder Joe Vacanti

The 1980's ushered in an era of high growth. By late 1986, the company foresaw an oncoming slowdown in retail absorption. We switched our focus and energies to office buildings. This niche provided the engine for growth and the new tax incetive laws in the state atttracted businesss and encouraged expansion. Corporate clients needed larger and more attractive space. The office buildings proposed and built by us proved to be very successful.

Throughout this period, The Vacanti and Randazzo Companies continued to take on projects for its other clients. A majority of these projects were negotiated and constructed on a design-build basis. The philosophy that guided the company founders, continues to guide the recent generations. Because of this, our list of satisfied customers continues to grow.
